Cherry Blossom Urn

Five part funerary urn

This urn is designed to come apart in five sections, with each section used to transport a portion of the ashes to one of five cities which was home to the deceased for an important period of his life. Cherry was his favorite wood, so we based the design on the five petaled cherry blossom, and used cherry wood as a material.

Each blossom/vessel is marked with the name of its city with corresponding plate below also designated. The vessels are meant to be taken to each city and emptied there, returning to be reassembled as part of a memorial sculpture.
