New Work

Exploring the area between figure and landscape, between naturalism and abstraction, between sculpture and practical objects, these new pieces are the first speculative sculptures I’ve made in almost 20 years. They vary in scale from breadbox to automobile, and in medium from crudely carved wood to highly polished stainless steel. All wood used is salvaged. The Nimbus series is ongoing: each piece a unique carving in marble, with patinated bronze figures. The SUHB series (Shelters for UnHoused Birds) is based on photographs of homeless encampments and is also ongoing. Materials are a mix of found and fabricated elements, each one having a working bird “house”.
